Šilhan Vladimír

Ing. Vladimír Šilhan, CSc., MSc, Col. (Ret.), born in 1950, Military Academy Brno, studies for MSc in Great Britain. He served in the Geographic Service of the Czech Armed Forces; 1999-2003 in the Military Staff of the Western European Union, Brussels, Belgium, and after that in the staff of a CIMIC Group North, the Netherlands. 2003-2006 chief of Concepts and Analyses Section, and deputy chief of the Doctrine Centre, Training and Doctrine Directorate (SpD ŘeVD). At the same time he also served as a liaison officer for cooperating with our British doctrinal and concept counterparts. When retired, in the years 2006-2008 he worked at the Defence Policy and Strategy Division of MoD (SOPS MO), as the head of division of strategic support to decision-making. Simultaneously he served as the main national representative for the Czech Republic to the Panel of Systems Analyses and Studies, NATO Research and Technology Organization, and as an advisor to the Advisory NATO Group for Development of Concepts and Experiments. From 2008 till 2011 he was a defence advisor of Permanent Representation of the Czech Republic to the European Union, and also represented the Czech Republic in the Board of Trustees of the European Satellite Centre (EUSC). At present, he works at Branch of Education, Personnel Division, MoD.
