Experience from Canceled Sajkovac Base Extend the Czech Armed Forces Engineer Capabilities (3)
Abstract:
The article deals with experience in closure of military bases in foreign operations. It follows in article Life cycle of military bases in foreign operations, published in Vojenské rozhledy Nr. 4/2009. The text of article presents current knowledge about the life cycle of military bases and general principles from the perspective of the latest NATO Handbook. The theoretical part of the article introduces weighting method of decision analysis, which compares current ways for the field bases closure. Maňas Pavel
COL (RET) Assoc. Prof. Pavel Maňas, PhD, born 1967. Graduated from the former Military Academy in Brno. His entire professional career has been connected with educating students in the field of military constructions, protective structures and effects of weapon systems on constructions. Recently, he has been working on modelling and simulations in the field of structural analysis of constructions and their ultimate load capacity and limit resistance, protection of infrastructure necessary for national defence and critical infrastructure, as well as security analysis. From 2010 to 2019, he headed the Department of Engineering Technology at the University of Defence. Currently, he has been working at the University of Defence, Brno University of Technology and in the commercial sphere.
